2012 Acura MDX Oil Change Coolant Change Sparkplug Replacement

This week at Hoover Street Auto, a customer brought his 2012 Acura MDX in for a routine oil change service performed by our ASE-certified Acura technician.

An inspection revealed that, at the current vehicle mileage, a cooling system service and sparkplug replacement were needed. Maintenance services were due based on the current vehicle mileage.

Replacing engine coolant flushes out contaminants that build up in the coolant fluid over time. The new coolant renews anti-corrosion and water-pump seal lubricant additives.

What Should I Do If My Car Overheats?

Answer: This is a very serious problem – if your car overheats you can seriously, and quickly damage the engine. As soon as possible, find a safe place to pull off the road and shut the engine off. Do not continue to drive the car! The best thing to do is have your car towed to a repair shop.

NOTE: Do not attempt  to open the radiator to check the coolant fluid level! The cooling system is under high pressure and the escaping coolant and steam can severely burn you.
