Squeaking often comes from worn brake pads, glazed pad surfaces, or moisture and light surface rust on the rotors. Many brake pads also include a built-in wear indicator that intentionally squeals when it is time for replacement. If the noise is constant or accompanied by reduced braking power, a comprehensive brake inspection will determine whether the pads have reached the end of their life.
