Engine oil leaks from the valve cover, oil pan, and timing cover gaskets are common. High engine and under-hood temperatures deteriorate the original gaskets.

Repair requires replacement of the valve cover gasket, oil pan gasket, and timing cover gasket. If the oil pan gasket is being replaced, it is wise to replace the timing cover gasket and the rear main crankshaft seal at the same time. The added time is minimal when compared to doing each individually as they fail.
