Introduction
During my High School years, I had a dream of owning my own auto service business. Eight months after my Air Force tour, I achieved that dream when I opened my Shell “Auto Care” Service Station on the east side of Ann Arbor. In 2002, after 22 years with Shell service stations, I bought the building on E. Hoover Avenue in downtown Ann Arbor next and moved my repair business to focus on auto repair in Ann Arbor without the fuel sales business. In 2013 I put a team together to open a second Ann Arbor auto repair shop, Stadium Auto Service which specializes in German auto repair service in the Ann Arbor area. In 2016, I opened my third Ann Arbor auto repair shop, State Street Auto Service., which specializes in light-duty and medium-duty truck repair service in the Ann Arbor, MI area. In 2021 State Street Auto Service moved to a much larger facility in Whitmore Lake, MI just 9 miles north of Ann Arbor. During 2021 we also opened our fourth auto repair shop in Ann Arbor, Abbott Street Auto Service, which specializes in Asian auto repair service. Other than 4 years in the Air Force, I’ve been an Ann Arbor / Saline resident since 1971.

Lead Auto Repair Technician
Our lead auto repair technician is a local guy who graduated with an Associates Degree in Automotive Technology and has been working as a professional Automotive Technician ever since. He started with Hoover Street Auto Repair in 2004 as an entry-level auto service technician. He “soaked up” auto repair knowledge and gained wisdom so quickly he quickly advanced to our top technician level. In 2015 he became our lead auto repair technician and continues to set the bar for technicians in our shop.
