2010 Nissan Altima S 2.5L FWD with Brake Squeak
Problem: Customer states there is a squeak when vehicle brakes applied.
Cause: Our Nissan Technician did a test drive to confirm the brake noise and that the brakes worked correctly. They then lifted vehicle on hoist and performed a wheels-off visual brake inspection and found the front brake pads and rotors were in very good serviceable condition, but they were not installed correctly. The brake caliper and pad contact points were not lubricated when the brakes were replaced at another auto repair facility.
Our technician's findings were reported to the vehicle owner along with a digital inspection report and supporting photos. The technician recommended the brake calipers and brake pads be removed and the brake components be properly lubricated.

Brake Squeak Repair
With customer approval our Nissan brake technician disassembled and lubricated the front brake components on both sides. They re-assembled the brakes and did a quality control test drive to confirm a successful brake repair.
This is a good example of a low cost brake repair that ended up costing more than having a correct, quality brake repair done.
