Hoover Street Auto Repair provides high-quality workmanship, uses quality parts, and offers a rock-solid guarantee—all at a fair price. We don't have the highest prices in town, nor the lowest. Our customers expect and receive honesty, value, and confidence in everything we do.
We provide detailed, written estimates—including parts and labor—so our customers can fully understand total repair costs. To give an accurate estimate, an initial inspection or diagnosis of the vehicle is almost always required.
Once we fully understand your vehicle’s needs, we provide a digital inspection report with photos, videos, detailed findings, a repair plan, and a complete cost estimate. Our auto repair estimate process is as transparent as possible.
Very few repairs on modern vehicles can be estimated without first inspecting the vehicle. Some basic services can be quoted, but even then, the vehicle may need to be checked for its production date, engine options, transmission, or trim level. In many cases, parts cannot be verified for availability and price without the vehicle’s serial number.
As a vehicle ages, its use and condition affect repair costs. Rusted bolts, age- and heat-hardened coolant hoses or wiring, worn associated parts, and other unexpected issues can make repairs more complex and cannot be anticipated without inspection or, in some cases, partial disassembly.
Although Hoover Street Auto Repair always considers the age and condition of the vehicle—and each customer’s budget—we will never compromise your safety or our reputation. We don’t take shortcuts, perform temporary fixes, or use low-quality parts if safety could be affected, if the repair wouldn’t meet our 24-month/24,000-mile guarantee, or if it would violate the Michigan Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act.
Michigan auto repair shops must follow strict policies under the Motor Vehicle Service and Repair Act (MVSRA, MCL 257.1301 et seq.) when handling customer requests involving substandard workmanship or poor-quality parts. The law emphasizes written authorization, quality standards, and liability avoidance. Shops are required to refuse unauthorized or unsafe work to comply with prohibitions on unfair practices.
